Troon recently celebrated breast cancer awareness with Play for Pink Day in West Maui.
To celebrate Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Kapalua Golf hosted a fundraising outing on October 21 at the Bay Course in Kapalua. The event raised and donated $ 6,233 to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation and Play for PINK
Over 140 golfers took part in this fun charity day which included discounted green fees for aeration recovery and a Par 3 “Hit the Green Challenge” on hole 15.
Funds were raised from a percentage of green fees, a par 3 course challenge and a raffle in the golf shop.
Special offers at the Bay Course Golf Shop, post-round festivities and “ROSE” themed treats at Taverna Restaurant helped complete this day of fun for a good cause.
“Mahalo to everyone who joined us and supported the event, especially the golfers who participated and our partner restaurant, Taverna,” said Deputy General Manager Tim Dietrich PGA.
Play for PINK (Prevention, Immediate Diagnosis, New Technologies, Knowledge or PFP) is a local organization dedicated to raising funds for breast cancer research through sporting and lifestyle events. PFP’s commitment is to donate 100% of all profits to its sole beneficiary, the Breast Cancer Research Foundation to fund the world’s best researchers.
