Manchester’s Augusta Country Club hosted their annual ACC Cares tournament on August 12th.

Longtime CCA member and founding event sponsor Charlie Shuman conducted the first ceremonial practice to send 124 players off the field.

Due to the many sponsors, the organizers presented a check for $ 25,300 to representatives of the Harold Alfond Cancer Center. As in 2020, this donation will go directly to the “Endowment Fund for Patient Needs”, which helps patients face unforeseen costs during their treatment time.

According to Sarah Kalagher, director of philanthropy for MaineGeneral, “The needs of patients have been more prevalent than ever during the pandemic,” Sarah Kalagher, director of philanthropy for MaineGeneral, said in an Augusta Country Club press release. . “Patients who are diagnosed with cancer have had enough on their plate; they shouldn’t have to worry about basic needs like transportation and food. The ACC Cares tournament helps us address these unmet needs, ensuring that our patients can fully focus on their treatment and recover. We are very grateful for their support. “
