Hair Loss Specialist to Host Cancer Support Event in Romsey
The local hair loss specialist has branched out to support more people.
Rachel Cardy has been a qualified hairdresser specializing in hair loss treatments for over 30 years.
She has now left salon life and hopes to be able to help more people in need with her increased flexibility.
Ahead of Breast Cancer Awareness Month in October, Rachel would like to let people know about the physical support available to Romsey.
Some of the treatments available at Rachel are Scalp Massage and Exfoliation, Reiki, Scalp Tattoo, and the all-important wig fitting consultation just to name a few.
These treatments are available for a range of conditions from alopecia to those who lose their hair as a result of cancer treatments and referrals can be made to Rachel through a healthcare professional or through people themselves.
Rachel will also host her ‘Staying Strong’ support group in November with the date to be confirmed due to Covid-19. Proceeds from the tickets will go to cancer support services at Jane Scarth House.
Rachel has so far raised over £ 2,000 for the cause.
Rachel said, “People say, why are you doing this work? It makes me happy and I’m fine, but it looks awful. People are going through their worst time. This process is up to them, I am very attentive to people’s feelings, this is not a standard hairstyle, it is totally different but I like to help. I love to do it.
Tickets for the event to be held at Bergman and Brown, Romsey, cost £ 5. There will be Pink Prosecco and Pink Lemonade available with food and plenty of opportunities to dress up and try new styles. A representative from the Jane Scarth House will be present as well as a trained clinical psychologist to provide additional support in the evening.
