Smile Cookie Donation to Spread Happiness and Thank Niagara Health Staff – Niagara Health News, Updates & Publications | Niagara Health System
It’s the kind of gesture meant to have frontline staff and healthcare workers grinning from ear to ear.
On Friday, September 23, Wellspring Niagara staff, supporters and members will hand-deliver 800 Smile Cookies to Niagara Health for our staff to enjoy. The chocolate chip cookies with smiley faces are a gift from donor and Wellspring Niagara member, Paul Battaglia. Paul, a cancer survivor from Niagara-on-the-Lake, has placed a large order of Smile Cookies to support the annual campaign at three Tim Hortons locations in Fonthill, where proceeds from sales will go to Wellspring Niagara.
Paul and Wellspring Niagara are sharing the large order with other cancer patient support organizations in gratitude for their work. Boxes of cookies will be distributed to Walker Family Cancer Center and other Niagara Health departments, and will include a thank you note from Paul to healthcare workers.
Members of the media are invited to attend the delivery for a photo and/or report:

About Wellspring Niagara:
Wellspring Niagara offers free services and programs to support people with cancer and their families. Wellspring Niagara is fulfilling the dream of Aldo Mantini, who lost his life to cancer at the age of 31. Aldo had inspired many in his community to work together to bring the kind of supportive care that Wellspring offers to Niagara. Now in its 21st year, the center offers a wide variety of programs and services to meet the social, emotional, restorative and informational needs of people with cancer. All programs are free and support anyone living with cancer at any stage, as well as their caregivers and family members in the Niagara Region. As a not-for-profit charitable organization, Wellspring Niagara receives no government funding and depends solely on the financial support of the community it serves, the Niagara Region.
